Information on Our Upcoming Practice Changes

Thank you for your support and trust in our clinic over the past 15 years. It has been a privilege to serve as an integral part in your life and your health care journey. In order to continue providing the highest level of care that you deserve, we have decided to completely re-imagine and restructure our primary care clinic. These changes are made with you and your ongoing desires for an improved healthcare experience in mind.

Any patient who wants to continue with our practice, please note the following options that are available to our patients:

*Employer pricing for DPC ($60/month per employee) will not change. If you are an employer and would like more information about providing DPC to your employees, please email us at [email protected].

Frequently Asked Questions ...

How Can These New Changes Benefit Me?

What is Direct Primary Care (DPC)?

First off, thank you for your support in our practice. We are making these changes out of a desire to be better doctors and clinicians by providing more of our time and attention to you, both in and outside of the office. We have completely redesigned our practice to give you increased access to your clinician, improve the convenience of your care, and focus our efforts even more on helping you achieve your very best health.

Direct Primary Care (DPC) is an innovative model that brings affordable and accessible primary care to all patients, regardless of insurance. Instead of billing insurance, we work very hard to bundle most of your primary care needs within your monthly membership fee. You can see your clinician as little or as often as you would like without any change in price (this includes the freedom of using telemedicine for many of your office visits!) Any extra labs, medications, and imaging will be offered with clear pricing at very reduced rates. No copays, no rushed visits, and no surprise bills ever!

We are family medicine clinicians, so we can see patients of all ages and stages of life. Dr. Troy Jackson is credentialed at Mission Hospital to see newborns after delivery. Please call our office for more information about this service!

There is no sign-up fee, but we do require a 3-month membership commitment for all patients. Should you cancel your membership and rejoin at another time, you will be subject to a $200 reinstatement fee.

Yes! Your health is more important than one or two 15-minute appointments per year and is directly affected by how you treat your body on a daily basis. We have designed our practice to focus on health care, rather than just sick care. We believe (and many scientific studies show!) that having increased access to your clinician for questions, accountability, and routine check-ups will help reduce the chance of developing or worsening chronic disease and keep you happy and well for years and decades to come. Lastly, we can never predict when we will get sick; but we can promise to be here for you when you do. Think of our clinic as your medical security blanket!

We are partnering with new technology to bring primary care into the 21st Century. All patients will have the ability to schedule appointments online. You will also receive a direct line of communication with your clinician through a secure phone and web app that allows you to text, call, email, or video chat. For those in the DPC plan, you can even do many of your follow-up appointments without leaving your home or workspace!

Just because we do not bill your insurance for primary care visits does not mean we cannot help you get more expensive services outside of our office. We are still able to send referrals to specialists, prescribe expensive medicines, or order an expensive imaging studies. For any medical service you receive outside of our clinic walls, you can use your insurance card to help cover these costs. “In-network” and “out-of-network” status does not matter with this.

At the moment, it is unclear if the membership fees are an approved use of HSA/FSA funds. There are current efforts in Congress to make this clearer but has not been made official just yet. We advise that you discuss this with your HSA/FSA carrier first.

We thank you for taking the time to review the options above.

You and your family’s health are very important to us, and we look forward to caring for you in a more personalized way.
